PCO Medical Examination Requirement
As a part of your private hire minicab licence application you must complete a medical declaration which covers you for DVLA group 2 medical standard. For existing private hire drivers looking to renew their PCO licence, you will only need to do a medical if you are 45 or over.
Bus and Lorry Driver are Exempt
Drivers who hold a PHV or LGV licence are exempt from the medical declaration as their licence requires them to complete a regular group 2 medical examination.
Book a Private Medical
It’s not always easy to get an appointment at a NHS GP Surgery as they are often fully booked. In some cases the cost of getting your medical done at your own GP surgery can be excessively high For this reason we have secured several private clinics across London to ensure our customers can benefit from a fast and reasonably prices medical examination for their PCO licence application.
In order to use one of our private GP’s we will need you to visit your own doctors surgery and at the reception request for your medical summary. The medical summary is your own information and under the data protection act your doctors surgery should provide you with a print out. Some may charge a small fee to cover the cost of printing and paper.
Our private GP medical includes an eye test, although TfL may request you to go to the opticians for further eye tests if required. The examination lasts around 30 minutes and we offer the service 7 days a week.
